For good health one adult person need 1 gm & for child less than 1gm salt is enough. But most of the countries people take 7-10 gm salt every day. In Bangladesh this rate is more, which is almost 16gm per day. If it will reduce half, it will possible to prevent almost 2.5 million people’s death from stroke & heart attack.
Most of the researches says that one adult person can eat 6gm (highest limit) per day and generally it is less than child.
Some disease for salt:
- High blood pressure:
Almost 150 billion people suffer from high blood pressure. This is one of the major reason for stroke, heart attack & kidney disease. Eat extra salt is the main reason for high blood pressure. More than 1/3 people suffer from high blood pressure who use so much salt in food. Low salt can help to control blood pressure and it can reduce stroke & heart disease. All around the world almost 7 million people die every year because of high blood pressure. This death risk can reduce by using low salt in daily food.
- Stroke:
Every year there are many people die in stroke. High blood pressure is one of the major element of stroke. Almost 65% stroke happened because of high blood pressure. So salt is direct reason for stroke. It is possible to prevent almost 40% of all kind of stroke by controlling high blood pressure. So it is possible to overtake the risk of stroke avoiding extra salt.
- Heart attack & heart failure:
Because of irregular high blood pressure heart failure may occur that reduce heart activities & using extra salt in food is the main reason of high blood pressure. This can occur heart attack, failure & stroke.
- Austioporosis :
Calcium is the essential element for the activities of bones. To reduce the amount of calcium in bone salt can play a big role. Using extra salt can flow out calcium by peeing. And so it is being lack of calcium in bones which is called Austioporosis.
- Stomach cancer:
Salt can harm Inside the stomach skin. Because of this it will be infacted by bacteria named “Helicobacter Pylori”. This is the reason for stomach cancer.
- Kidney disease:
High blood pressure rise the amount of protein in pee that is the main risk for reducing the activities of kidney. Taking extra salt floe out the calcium by peeing and this calcium can create stone into kidney.
